My name is Will J. Wood and I'm a queer writer and artist originally from Suffolk. My goal is to connect the deep roots of our cultural heritage with the beautiful queer future.
I founded Seedlings, a seasonal hand-made magazine bringing my nature and queer writing community to the age-old skill of letterpress. I print at the London Centre for Book Arts and the old Fitzwilliam Museum press, Cambridge. Seedlings Autumn was our biggest issue yet, incorporating 'Ferryman', a song by Johnny Flynn and Robert Macfarlane. I also made a full-size letterpress print of the song. Seedlings is now being distributed by Public Knowledge Books.
A writer from Suffolk, my work explores nature, queerness and the craft of writing. I studied poetry with Bhanu Kapil at Cambridge University (2017-20), where I also was published in magazines (Varsity, TCS), staged plays of my writing and produced a poetry radio show. My writing has since been published in magazines (Nea, Notes) and my short films have been nominated for numerous awards at film festivals around the world.
